The Thing About Being a Teacher

I grew up related to a bunch of teachers, and I thought I knew how hard it is to be a teacher.

I went to school for years, (like most everyone), and I thought I knew how hard it is to be a teacher.

I took education classes in college and started paying more attention to education politics—and I thought I'd learned how hard it is to be a teacher.

I've been a student teacher three and a half months, observing most of the time, and I thought I'd really learned how hard it is to be a teacher.

I've been teaching my own class for just two weeks, and the thing is, I've only just begun to learn how hard it is to be a teacher.
